The Urban Mystic was started by three friends looking for a way to build community centred around intimacy with God. We expressed this desire as the following mission statement:

“We long for a community that is committed to intimacy with God, where people are free to express their desire for God, where we are enabled to creatively express our love to God, and where God, in turn, unashamedly saturates us in His presence.

Our desire translates into action, into what we do. To put into practice our desire for community and intimacy with God we host several activities, from a monthly session focused on connecting with God to several short courses to helping people develop a spiritual portfolio.

There are several good reasons why we do what we do, why our priority on intimacy with God results in those particular activities.
